Dr. Sharon Hayes is a licensed clinical psychologist, and she directs the Psychology Program at Keiser University in Port St. Lucie. As a native of the Treasure Coast, Dr. Hayes is committed to serving her community. She believes wholeheartedly in the mission of the Inner Truth Project, and she is particularly passionate about the eradication of shame and stigma associated with sexual violence and mental health. She appreciates and supports the Inner Truth Project’s integrative approach to serving clients and the community.
Dr. Hayes earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and she completed her fellowship training at Temple University. She is a proponent of evidence-based practice, and she has experience assessing and treating children, families, and adults across a variety of settings. She has published her research in several peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at numerous national and international conferences. She also has experience applying for and securing extramural funding. Teaching and mentoring students are among Dr. Hayes’ favorite professional activities.
In addition to her service on the Inner Truth Project Board, Dr. Hayes also volunteers personally and partners with agencies through her position at Keiser University (e.g., Big Brothers Big Sisters, Tykes & Teens, Boys & Girls Club, Executive Roundtable of St. Lucie County, and the Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County).
